My traveling and running activities are at this moment fully in my financial management. I don’t have any sponsors, there is no commercial brand, no one is supporting my charity activities. I am in connection with few brands/partners, whom I know in person, whom I trust and about whom I am convinced, that they offer something unique to this world. One of these brands is also the company SportMind from Ostrava (Czech Republic), which owns the know-how for the psychologic method CA and which offered me the opportunity to use the method during my journey through a specific online app.
SportMind and the CA method I already introduced here. It is important to mention in the beginning once again, that the CA method is being used in different areas of daily life, such as sport, working environment or marketing. SportMind is a unique product which focuses on the world of sport. Nowadays a lot of professionals but also hobby sportlers are using it, not only in the Czech Republic but also in the world. People often ask me, how does the measurement work and what result the app gives, especially when I don’t have so much time on my journey to undergo complicated measurements. In this blog I would like to show you concretely, how does it work in my daily life.
How does SportMind measure
Running in every corner of the world is challenging not only time- or money-wise, but also from the physical and energetical perspective. I use SporMind mainly in the time of a higher physical activity (long runs, for ex. half marathon, marathon), to know, what to expect from my body. The output I correlate and analyse with my Garmin data.
SportMind offers at this moment 2 type of measurements:
Detailed (deep) mental analysis is more complex and its output will give you a better view from a long-term aspect, it doesn’t change so much in real short time. It is recommended to repeat the analysis in a long-term period, for ex. after few months. I did run the detailed mental analysis before my journey and I will repeat it again on its end, to see the progression. This analysis will give you a lot of facts about yourself, however as a beginner you may face challenges to understand them, thus I would recommend consulting the results with the certified coach, who will prepare a short summary for you and who will also help you to better orientate. Such output can give you and your sport coach a lot of information, for ex. how do you follow your rules during sport, what is the level of your ambition (how much committed you will be when reaching your goal), whether you act based on your information or intuition, if you will fight for your opinion, how persistent you are, if you are an inspiring leader who can motivate other team players etc. These all are important information for your sport life, if you are dealing with sport on a more professional level and your target it is constantly to improve – today it is already well known how important your psyche for sport is. Coach will also recommend the important action steps, to improve and develop into the right way.
Actual psychological status of the athlete is on the other side a short outcome, focused more on the current moment. I will be talking about it in the next SportMind blog.
The measurement with the CA method is online, with help of specific app. The athlete takes a short, intuitive online test. There is a set of phrases projected, which are showing on the screen to the athlete. His role it is to assign three of the eight presented colours to each of these phrases, based on his/her current feelings about that phrase. Before this and at the beginning of the test, the athlete must evaluate all the colours, from the most pleasant to the least pleasant one. Such evaluation he/she repeats at the end of the test and as a final result there is the concrete outcome.

In the next step the concrete test follows, you will see specific phrases, read it loudly and then for yourself and finally, you intuitively evaluate the phrase with 3 colours:
In the final step you will repeat the evaluation from step 1, you are not asked to use the same order, your first evaluation is at this step not relevant:
As a result, you will become an outcome, whose complexity depends on the test type (deep analysis or actual psychological status).

At this place, I am not going to start the conversation about the CA method and whether it is correct, trustful and what is the difference with other types of diagnostics (personal questionnaires for ex.). This is a discussion which the competent persons need to have. Myself, I have been using the CA method in my professional and private life for almost a decade and personally believe into the principle, on which this method is based: that we evaluate the colours differently than simple words which all the questionnaires offer. There are decades of research and a trend group of several hundreds of thousand tested people behind the CA method. For me it is important, that with SportMind I can measure during my journey my mental readiness connected to my performance and that I am able to adjust my activities accordingly. It is an important tool for improving my performance and avoiding injuries, a tool which helps to listen to the voice of my body.
