The human body is not a machine and we all are vulnerable. Riga half marathon, it hurt, again… It’s been a rule nowadays, well, with a hurt heel and 2 weeks after the Prague Marathon I didn’t expect it different. It was clear this is not going to be the season of personal bests.
I LOVE RUNNING and I love racing. But suddenly, it’s all different. Suddenly there is no motivation. I cannot wait the finish line, but already on the 7th kilometer? The final time acceptable, half marathon in 1:37, yes, a lot of people are dreaming about this, I know. But what counts is the feeling during the whole 21K.
I am tired. Now I will rest. Few days and weeks. A total break. Almost. This was the plan anyway. I’d love to stand on the 22 June at the start of the marathon, well, most likely just a half marathon, in a small town few hours drive from New York. Time will show…
